peco wiring

I know nothing about turnouts. I am building the Virginian At one yard there are 3 turnouts connect end to end. Do you still put insulated joiners on the turnout as per instructions on the Peco package back? If you do, do you have to run power feeds to each turnout? Or is that what the thin wire put on at the factory is for? Lot of questions I know. The original oval worked like a charm and I added turnouts and now nothing works. TRying to work this out in my head.

Are we talking Electrofrog or Insulfrog turnouts? (the packaging says which one)

regardless one thing I have done when testing things out is to simply set up turnouts and track on a flat surface “train set style” with a small locomotive and power pack (assuming DC) and see what happens when you move the points. For experiment purposes you might want to have those railjoiners that Atlas makes (even though not ideal for Peco track in my experience) that have wires already soldered to the joiner. That way you can use aligator clips to experiment with different wiring.

This is real helpful. Ill try it.

Peco offers the same wired railjoiners, but solder is less expensive
