Don’t ya sometimes wonder just WTF these people are thinking when they do these stupid moves? I mean, it’s not like a truck (or a locomotive) is particularly difficult to see…
The award’s ‘winners’ continue to lack decent intelligence and situational awareness. Were they to have had decent intelligence and situational awareness they would not have been struck.
I think the signal maintainers who tested their repair with a 79 mph Amtrak train, resulting in the death of Katie Lunn, deserve a big Darwin Award. I am surprised nobody here has nominated them for the award.
As I mentioned earlier, the so-called “awards” show a lack of decency and empathy for the families and friends of the deceased and should be retired from these forums.
Thank you, “CSSHEGEWISCH”, for getting this thread “back on track,” which initially was simply reporting another sad death, apparently still of an as-yet-unknown cause. As a survivor myself of the railroad death of a healthy teenage boy relative, I cannot bear these “slings and arrows” aimed in our mutual direction. Perhaps it is appropriate now to terminate this thread, and have a separate one for such morbid jocularity.
Once you hit the post button the topic or statement is a free for all . and as long as it is railroad related nothing you can do about it , Now if it bothers yo to much there is 2 very good things you can do, the best editting devices on the forum
dont post it, if it not posted it cant be comented on.
dont read the thread, the very best edit device if it is offensive then just dont read it then it slowly dies away.
many threads on here i dont read as the subject is not what i care about. and the ones that get people hurt on here i wont fight about it either, just LOL and go on.
IMHO the people who commit suicide by train, truck, cop, etc. are among the most selfish people on this earth. They think only of their poor selves and NOT of the poor sould they damage (often permanently) by their selfish act of suicide such as the railroad engineer, truck driver, etc., not to mention their families they leave behind.
Fellas- I’m going to go ahead and lock this thread. The reason being, it’s going to turn into a useless, name-calling fight rather quickly.
We have a common thread of being interested in railroads. When a thread like this pops up, all it does is get everybody’s blood pressure up, without accomplishing anything. I relate it to the bar fight scenes in movies. Once somebody throws a punch, everybody in the bar is duking it out, for no apparant reason.
Please don’t take this as being aimed at anyone particular. It isn’t. Let’s please just move on.
