Does anyone use the type of painting platform as shown in Pelle’s article in the Jan MR. I see the block of wood, with wires coming up from the two holes and styrene tubing covering those wires- how thick are the wires- is coat hangar wire suitable?

In Pelle’s book “Done in a Day” he mentions that its just a block of wood with a series of holes ( depending on car length ) and pieces of piano wire. I imagine you could use pieces of coat hanger inseatd of the piano wire. It might be a little thicker thats all.
I just picked out some nails of the right size and cut the heads off them.
Just use finishing head nails and drive through the block of wood, this way the end you want to use will be pointed. If you can’t drive a nail straight into the wood, drill a starter hole through it first.
