Pennsy Trenton - More from 1947

These pics of my father’s all appear to be taken on the same day as the K4 pic I shared last week. The first is a P5 motor with a freight (this is a westbound right?). I wonder what is in the cars.

Next is the E6 shot that my dad labled a Camden train. I don’t know if this is coming or going however.

And last, a freight (this is eastbound right?) with what my dad wrote was an H10, but I cannot see the number to confirm that.

Corrections (and in this case, additional information) are always welcome.

Many thanks for looking.

…Great photos showing our recent past…Frozen in time…!

Enjoy seeing them. How changed everything visible in photos looks {to me}, comparing how facilities look now as well as the equipment.

By “changed”, I mean era…time.

[#ditto] Thanks for sharing your dads Photos always enjoy them Larry

Not a lot has changed, but the track is in better shape today, I am sure. The Camden train is about to depart, headed south on the northbound (eastbound) “local” track. It would not stay there very long or it would delay a northbound (estbound) train stopping at the station. I note a regular P-70 coach is behind the tender, not the more usual P-54 shorty often assigned. Terrific photos.

Love that steam ! Thanks for sharing…

As you surmised, the first pic is looking NE at a presumably-westward train, and the third pic is looking west. In the second one the photographer is standing on the low-level platform looking west at the train that is on the track on the south side of the south high platform-- i.e. the platform ordinarily used by eastward trains. No doubt when you show the pic to the guys at the PRR Yahoogroup they’ll be able to give the 1947 arrival schedule from Camden.

Tim and Dave,

As always, thanks for the great info!
