It would be great if they could aquire a pair of late '60s trailers to complete the exhibit!
Fully agree with the trailer idea - that would properly ‘date’ the piece. As it stands now, it looks like thousands of other TTX flats still in service. A couple of semi-trailers with rounded front corners and Dayton-style wheels would give it proper time context…
There has got to be a couple of PRR 40 footers still around somewhere.
In Sunset Beach, NC at the intersection of 904 and Hwy 17, just north of the kangaroo gas station, there is an old Southern Container trailer. Not sure if it is a 40’ trailer but it likely is.
