Pennsylvania museum begins RDC restoration

I like the b and m paint on it

Stopped by Bellefontante, PA early this year, looking for the RDCs. Found them stashed in the yard, a few miles from the station. They looked pretty worn out, and were exposed to the elements. Couldn’t get through the yard to get any good pics though.

I rode this car when it was last in service, before FRA non-worthiness issues arose. Shorter excursions via RDC, offered many weekends in the past, could mean once again accessing Nittany & Bald Eagle’s Lock Haven-Tyrone line (NS has trackage rights) at Milesburg for trips as far as Tyrone’s junction with the NS main. But Milesburg-Bellefonte-Pleasant Gap runs are quite scenic, too, and avoid the need for NS dispatching clearance beyond Milesburg.

Did I miss the B&M portion of the car’s history, or was that just someone’s flight of fancy? I’d much rather see the car repainted as an original New Haven RDC.
