Pennsylvania railroad herald question

Hi

Which herald or logo is correct for the PRR boxcars type X31F used in the late 1950s early 1960s? I have seen a keystone logo type and another one that is round My Bowser 40277 boxcar has the keystone one painted in white

thanks for your reply

The mid 50s saw the keystone herald. Some call it the shadow keystone. (sk) Butt they are different. The keystone was sometimes not outlined. The circle keystone (ck) was previous to that. Before that was the Pennsylvania spelled out with no heralds. The ck heralds were started in the twenty’s. The PRRT&HS blog site can help you with specific dates and what classes of rolling stock got what and when.

You will have to register to get on but it is free. This is strictly a PRR site so don’t ask about other roads unless it relates to the Pco.
