Excellent preservation news, but I think the SW1’s first PRR number was actually 9206. That unit was renumbered to PRR 8506, then sold to Bethlehem Steel as their number 70, then it became BSP 70. Information from Weiglin and Douglas, Pennsy Diesels: 1924-1968, page 254.

Thanks for the info. The PRR diesel pictorial has a photo of 8506. I’d like to see a photo of when it was 9206. I believe it worked in Chicago so someone out there must have photographed in it’s original number.
