Permission to use MR articles. Who to contact?

There was an article about modelling a branch line in Birmingham AL in the October 1991 issue of Model Railroader, which would be of great interest to the members of the Alabama Railfan group.

Is there anyone I could contact about getting permission to post the article (including author and owner details) to the group site, or is that a mega taboo issue?

I’m English and know 'squat about American copyright law.
