That’s a smart way to get your stuff to turn up in more searches, but I never have liked it, either…I mean what else would the seller be willing to do to sell something???
There is a simple thing called FEEDBACK.
If you have the time to look on Ebay for items, take the time to look at their feedback. Not just their feedback, look at what feedback they leave for others. Its other way to find out just a litttle more about the seller prior to dealing with them.

Strange, are you the same people who don’t like people that aren’t modellers who sell “stuff” ? ? yet cannot wait to pounce on the widow who is selling all her husband’s collection of 500 brass locomotives and what she refers to as “toy trains” for peanuts, because this moron told his wife these locos only cost $5.00. Now, the shoe is on the other foot eh? but it does pay to get a collection appraised.
All we seem to want is new, like new or very good items from people who know all about them at a cheap price without having to do a lot of research. Is that too much to ask?[:-^]
