Philadelphia and Erie Railroad

I am designing a loyout based on the Philadelphia and Erie railroad in the 50s-70s. Does anyone have good links?[:I]

I have never heard of the Philadelphia and Erie railroad and I grew up in the Philadelphia are in the 1970’s.

Was it a shortline or some industrial line? Where did it operate?

If you really mean the Philadelphia and Erie, get the book “The Philadelphia and Erie Railroad” by Homer T. Rosenberger. Available on eBay, item #260422808537. But that railroad was absorbed many, many years ago by the PRR (long before the 1950s), so perhaps you’re thinking of a different railroad.

Thanks, I forgot to include that fact.

It never got there. The PRR lines around Sunbury, Renovo, Milton, Williamsport, Lock Haven, etc. were the P&E, absorbed by the PRR in 1862.

There is a fascinating e-book, almost 50% free read, on books.google.com, about PRR engineman O.P. Orr. He worked steam engines in this exact area on PRR - Ralston, Williamsport, Tyrone…
