I was so excited about showing my pictures this weekend that I jumped in and started the thread for once! [:p]
My shots are of two bridges I’m working on. This first one is going to be a road under pass. The road will angle under to disappear to the left.
The next picture is Gaskins Creek. The foam is cut and the contours roughed in. I don’t know whether I’ll get to fini***his before July. Wiring, track tweaking and ballasting all are top of the priority list this month.
So, what have YOU been up to this week and weekend? [?]
I’ll offer a photo from my HO steam era layout to this weekend’s photo array. It’s a shot depicting the Putney Tunnel and nearby coal siding, with an eastbound Hudson Highlands freight drag just emerging from the tunnel portal. My layout, set in the mid-autumn of 1940, finds rail traffic steadily increasing between the major inland industrial city of Jacksboro, NY, and the coastal ports, as the clouds of impending war grow ever darker.
Man thats just wrong, and on Father’s day weekend even.
I won’t be posting any train pics or working on the layout. Working today til 3 then it’s off to a graduation party, then a nephew’s 1st b-day party then tomorrow its off to the Air Show at Willow Grove NAS
Nice bridges. Great scenery touch CNJ. MB, those are great little people. Great feel for the mood. I am still work ing on Terraforming. Still some tectonics, but mostly errosion now. Here are a few progress shots.
A long shot of the top where Yellowstone Falls will be.
A shot of the whole canyon concept.
Here is a shot from the stram bed.
Here is a shot of the Hoodoos with three washes and little texture.
I am getting a kick of of mountain building, but it takes for ever and makes a great mess.
Went to the UP 1989 unvieling ceremony this morning… Looks like I’m going to have to buy one of these from whomever produces it first (even if it is a, gag, Genesis).
Mr B - I’m thinking maybe Rocky is keeping an eye out for the Lady in Red he just got the wrong platform. He never was a rocket scientist.[:-^] Really nice job on the Subway,
CNJ - Those are some AWESOME trees (and yes I was yelling)[:D]
Art - That is going to be one incredible scene when you get it finished.

As usual, great pictures by everyone. I always enjoy them all. But CNJ831, that is a great photo. Especially with the top of the church spire and only the roof of another structure showing over the top of the trees. Art, just gotta know, how high from the floor to the top of your bridge scene. Thanks everyone…
Tom
Thanx, Tom. I’m pleased you noticed those somewhat subtle details. My town of Putney on the layout is supposedly in NY but is based on the real Putney, VT. Now a New England-based scene just doesn’t say New England without a white church steeple poking above the skyline, so I absolutely had to include one, albeit largely hidden here by the surrounding trees.
Flee, great carving on that sign. Good detail all around. Tom - The steel bridge is 48 inches above the floor, 44 inches above the stream bed and 38 inches below the mountain top. The curved trestle bridge (not yet a trestle) is 14 inches below the steel bridge The hoodoos are 20 to 60 scale feet high. They do need a few more washes to get the shadows and details to pop out.
Thanks for the complements, gentlemen. Some people learn from the mistakes of others. I look at Photo Fun to learn from the successes of others. This week, even the prototypes are works of art. Supurb work, everyone.
