Photo resizer... free

I’ve come across this website that offers free resizing of your photos, plus a few other adjustments such as cropping, sharpening, brightness, contrast etc.

If you try it just be sure your original photo is 5 mb or less. I tried it and it does work as advertised. It was originally made by a firm in OZ for their clients but they’ve put it up for everyone to use.

Can’t beat the price and it would be just the ticket for some of you on Weekend Photo Fun. Note that you can change the size it will make by entering a value in the appropriate box. Experiment with it and if you don’t like the result there is a ‘do over’ button. I like those… [:)]

I get all of that on Photobucket.

And I have all that and much more on Photoshop…[:-^]

Or you can download PhotoFiltre for free at: http://photofiltre.free.fr/frames_en.htm. Make sure to check out the plug-ins, there are some very handy ones there (like removing fisheye distortions); the program also allows for fixing keystone distortion.

Yep, those will work too!

another freebee is Irfanview and it does lots more than resizing. It has batch resizing, effects, and much more. Just google irfanview

cheers

Thanks Doc for the PhotoFiltre link – It has a nicer (more accurate/stable) quick cropping tool than IrfanView which I have used for years. Either freeware program “works better” with the Plug-Ins download.

For others here, if you look at carefully at the PhotoFiltre website, there are a number of freeware graphics programs in addition to the PhotoFiltre app.

I’m grateful for the PhotoFiltre link as well. It seems like a pretty powerful image manipulation tool with all of the plugins installed. [tup]

I’ve used FastStone Image Viewer for years as a viewer and on-the-fly tweaker and resizer. The interface is really convenient.

FastStone also made a screen capture tool which was free up until version 5.3, and you can’t beat it with a stick:
