I’ve come across this website that offers free resizing of your photos, plus a few other adjustments such as cropping, sharpening, brightness, contrast etc.
If you try it just be sure your original photo is 5 mb or less. I tried it and it does work as advertised. It was originally made by a firm in OZ for their clients but they’ve put it up for everyone to use.
Can’t beat the price and it would be just the ticket for some of you on Weekend Photo Fun. Note that you can change the size it will make by entering a value in the appropriate box. Experiment with it and if you don’t like the result there is a ‘do over’ button. I like those… [:)]
Or you can download PhotoFiltre for free at: http://photofiltre.free.fr/frames_en.htm. Make sure to check out the plug-ins, there are some very handy ones there (like removing fisheye distortions); the program also allows for fixing keystone distortion.

Thanks Doc for the PhotoFiltre link – It has a nicer (more accurate/stable) quick cropping tool than IrfanView which I have used for years. Either freeware program “works better” with the Plug-Ins download.
For others here, if you look at carefully at the PhotoFiltre website, there are a number of freeware graphics programs in addition to the PhotoFiltre app.
