That is pretty nice work. Lots of variety of style. I like it.
A sugestion, get a cheap tripod for your camera, and take pics with the timer, it will sharpen the images a lot. A cheap camera with a cheap tripod will take better pics than anything handheld.
I like what you are doing, and enjoy your sharing.
Great!!! I do like the farm. I’ve noticed that you have GN box car. Do you like to model the GN or do you model a different railroad.
Your layout is looking really good.
James
Very cool can you try to make the pictures clearer next time??
JAILBREAKER74,
You are soooo far ahead of me when it comes to the scenery,
Thanks for posting the pictures,
The farm looks great. You have givin’ me some new ideas for my layout.
thanks,

Looks great. I noticer you have the track laid & ballasted befor you put any scenery on your mountain. I am building some mountains on my HO layout and don’t know, should I lay the track then “test it” befor I do any scenery? Thanks
Mike
Yes you should test it. First without ballast then with ballast. Make sure it runs good. I would suggest soldering the rails so when you do the ballast the glue doesn’t get in the rail joiners and rust. Then do scenery. Be careful not to get paint on the ballasted track. Cover the track with some news paper or something.
An easy trick for covering rails:
Use 3M 1/4" masking tape.
Lay along the bottom of the outer rail, then fold over in half on the opposite side of the same rail. Do the other rail. Now you can weather your track, including ballast, in a snap. Don’t forget that switch turnout points and frogs still need to be protected.
great photos and work done, thanks for sharing
I use two different widths of masking tape when masking my rail. First, I lay a strip of 1/2" wide between the rails, and a strip of 1/4" on the outsides of the rails. Then, I paint the rails. I found that the camouflage paint that Wal-Mart sells (it’s a tan color) looks good. Then after the rails are dry, I remove the tape and I take a brush with black or dark brown and run it down the center of the rails. A light spritz with water or alcohol and it spreads out looking like the trail of oil/coal that stains the ties and ballast between the rails.
I like the water effect. What did you use?
