I have been a member of these Forums for years, and have learned a lot by reading about various topics, and by asking many questions. However, I have never successfully been able to upload photos to accompany my message posts. I created a PHOTO BUCKET account, but have yet to figure out how to upload photos. I managed to insert a link in one message, and you can see the photo by clicking the link. However, I see lots of other folks’ photos just by scrolling their messages. Help! Thanx,
I use Flickr but I imagine Photobucket is similar. Look for the embed code, likely somewhere under the “share” button, Flickr gives you a choice between html or BBCode (bulletin board code), that’s what I choose. I end up with some extra code that I have to manually edit, but just copy the code and paste it into your post. See what happens. good luck.
Thanx Greg. I tried Googling it, but I wasn’t phrasing the search yerms correctly. However, after reading through many of the search items, I did not find a step-by-step explanation of how to do this. I had already tried copying the url from photobucket to my post on the MR Forum, but that did not insert the phot (so a reader could see the photo in the post without having to click the link). What do I have to do to get the actual photo to show up in the message? Thanx again.
In Your photo bucket library, when You click on a pic’ that You want to send…on the right side of the screen, click on IMG, that should say copied, go to the site You want to insert IMG, press enter, then press Ctrl V, You should not have to do anything else, Do Not use the insert IMG url link in the MRR text bar. Your URL code will show on the line where You clicked enter, The pic’. will not show up until You press Submit Your Reply.
It took me several tries to figure out how to use photobucket to insert pictures and Frank’s instructions are right on. It’s easy once you figure it out but very confusing before it sinks in. You don’t have to size image, just do the crtl V and your photo will be inserted “full” sized.
should imbed the picture using regular HTML commands but as you can see, the forum does not seem to allow regular html commands.
You can point to full sized pictures, but these take a long time to load and use bandwidth unnecessairly. LION used Image Resizer which is a command on your Win 7 and higher computer IF YOU ADD IT TO YOUR COMPUTER you can access it with your right click menu. Very handy. LION loves it.
It is simply POLITE to resize any photos that you will transmit across the web or in an email.
Frank, I do as you, clicking on the img line, which copies the data. However, here, I simply place the cursor where I want the picture to appear, then click “Paste”. The line of data appears, and, as with your method, becomes a picture upon clicking “Preview” or “Submit”. Saves a step - always important for us sedentary types. [;)]
