Photo Where Is It? (SOLVED)

Haven’t seen one of these posted in awhile, and I haven’t really done anything productive for the forum, so I thought it would be nice to do a Photo Where Is It post. I think it’s probably on the simply side again, so no clues for awhile.

Off you go!

A swing bridge, somewhere on the Missouri River?

Swing Bridge, Yes. Missouri River, No.

…Hi Chris:

Looks like the swing bridge on the Mississippi visible from that web cam we see on here, with that bridge in the distance. What’s that name…is it Ft. Madison.

I’m thinking the bridge at Fort MAdison is a double decker bridge with cars on top. Is that the bridge in Clinton Iowa?

Not Ft. Madison and not Clinton. Right river though!

The bridge at Clinton is double track, this appears to be a single track bridge. My guess is the ex-MILW IC&E crossing at Sabula, Iowa.

Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner. Congrats, Jeff!

Man, I’m going to have to start making these a little more diificult!

Either that or put up shots that are from areas that we don’t live in…[;)]

Good thing I was busy here at work, or it might’ve gotten solved even quicker.

Me too Brian(IA).

I had a suspicion on it being this bridge, which I saw once, ages ago (not the most photogenic of the upper river crossings!), but I was just uncertain enough to wait and see if I was right.

I have to confess that I’ve only seen the place in pictures. I’ve never been there in person. It being a single track bridge in what appeared to be a rural setting narrowed it down. That and what little of the bridge appeared in some pictures in a couple of MILW RD books made me certain enough to toss out a guess.

Here is the same bridge from different perspectives.
I was pleased not seeing a train in this shot.

And the second pic.
