Photobucket changes linking policy

Photobucket has stopped allowing third party linking to photos for users who have free accounts:

Photobucket.com Terms of Use

Last revised June 28, 2017

Free account : Each individual Member gets one free account that provides 2 GB of free storage or space available for your original photo files, or videos under 10min. The free account does not allow any image linking or 3rd party image hosting. If a free account Member exceeds their Content Limit, their account will be immediately suspended and they will need to become a “Paying Member” (defined below) in order to continue accessing their account. You can upgrade to a Plus account at any time.

So, if you’re using a free Photobucket account to post pics of your layouts and etc., you’ll either have to start paying for it or post them somewhere else. Just a word to the wise.

If there are photos and a little train in my signature box my photobucket is still working. (It was this morning )

Testing.

BBcode

So, BB code is what I need to use to post the photos I transferred to Flikr.

Another test

Yep. Back in business.

I have read this same thing on several other forums also and it makes me glad I use Shutterfly.

NWL

I wonder if this means that all existing links will be broken. That will play havoc with the American Flyer thread. I will have to keep watch on it. Fortunately I use Shutterfly.

Northwoods Flyer

As best as I can tell any photos linked from a free Photobucket account will be “locked” until or unless the user subscribes to the paid service. I transferred everything I had on Photobucket to Flikr.

I followed your advice years ago Northwoods and put everything on Shutterfly as well. So, hopefully there won’t be much of a problem.

I deleted mt photobucket account…enough is enough. will be checking out shutterfly.

****well that sure was a heck of a lot easier than Photobucket EVER was…thanks Greg!

Lets just hope that Shutterfly doesn’t do the same thing

Northwoods Flyer

I created my Shutterfly account just a few minutes ago. Now I’ll have to copy my photobucket images over to Shutterfly.

Just started doing that as well. So now I have Flikr and Shutterfly.

If you don’t want to loose your pictures, you can download them to your computer.

Shutterfly? Isn’t that a character from “My Little Pony?”
