The last couple of times I went on Photobucket they had a countdown timer saying when they are taking the “old” Photobucket off-line and forcing us to “upgrade” to the new brown version of their site. It appears the date is March 4 (feb 13 + 19 days as of today if I an counting correctly). I had better [:#] before I get my hand slapped.
I switched over to the ‘New’ Photobucket a couple of weeks ago. It took me a while to figure it out. Ten minutes later I was quite comfortable with it.
Jeffrey,
Is the photo posting sequence the same as before?
I couldn’t find a bulk upload option? Is there one?

I’ve found it to be pretty much the same. I use three methods. One is the normal process of selecting and uploading one at a time, another is selecting two or more to load at once. In this I simply hold down the Ctrl key while passing my mouse pointer over the photos I wish to upload. Just pause it for a second and the file is selected then I move on to next one. When they’re all selected I click the ‘Save’ key and away it goes. The third is drag and drop. It works just like it sounds. I drag the files from my hard drive or flash card and drop them onto the upload screen. Whether it’s one or many at once the process is the same.
Bulk uploading is easy. Hold down the Ctrl key and touch the mouse pointer to each photo file you wish to upload. Don’t click on the file. If you do it’ll upload the file right there. Once you selected all the files you wish to upload from that drive release the Ctrl key and click the ‘Save’ button. You’ll see the files appear on the upload screen in rapid succession and they’ll upload.
Whew! (sigh of relief)
I was concerned there for a minute as I have quite a few photos on “the Bucket”.
Thank you for sharing that info Jeffrey. Very helpful!

Cool, thanks Jeff!

I switched when it first came out. Then after the edit option continued to freeze up, I switched back to the old one. A couple of days ago I switched to the new one again and wouldn’t you know, the website froze again. The first time I had problems with it I had my old desk top running XP. I figured it was my fault for having an old computer. Since that first time, I’ve acquired a new laptop that should have more than enough horsepower to not get bogged down with a photo editing program. I just hope I don’t continue to have these problems. Other than that issue, I like the new site better than the old one.
It may be something in your settings. I’m using an old computer running XP with no problems.
I’m assuming it’s me being impatient and not waiting for the website to react to what I want. It seemed to get hung up while processing my commands. I’ll try it again to see if I have the same problems.
I’ve found the new Photobucket quite nice to use. No problems.
I’ll be a spoil sport, as I’m not that thrilled with it. The beta site is presenting my new images at about 1/3 the size of my pre-beta shots, and there appears to be no way to revert (they do that deliberately to save space). They’ve not yet activated drag-and-drop sorting or slide shows 6 months after they launched the beta, which I find frustrating.
I’m sticking with it but running Flickr in parallel, as it doesn’t have those frustrations and feeds AppleTV as well. Not sure whether I’ll switch permanently, but I am tempted.
If I’m missing something and causing the frustrations I’m experiencing, I’d appreciate a tutorial from those can help!

From what I understand the pre-sizing options aren’t yet available. I have been told they will be.
