Very nice. What did you use for the field grass? That’s what’s missing on my layout. Maybe I’ll have my wife show me how to work the new digital camera and take some pics. It’s been awhile since I’ve contributed to this thread.
The reunion is off, too much explaining on the trees, ground cover , and how you got the pheasnt to carry the camera!
Looks great, keep up the great work, enjoy the reunion, but when you get back, WE HAVE QUESTIONS that WILL BE ANSWERED!

Art–that’s WONDERFUL work, I really admire it! Glad you got the Sierra running, isn’t that a nice-looking little mallet, though? I was able to see the real one in action around Sonora when I was a kid and my cousin took me rail-fanning along the Sierra Railroad. Almost picked up the PFM model about ten years back, it was on consignment at my LHS. Only problem was that there was a D&SL 2-6-6-0 right next to it, so I opted for the latter. Too bad the LHS wasn’t having a 2-for-1 sale that day, LOL!]

The field grass is mink fur we found at the prototype family farm when we were cleaning it out. It needs some refinement but will look ok with some grass and tall weeds. The birch trees are Queen of the Praire seeds pods. The pheasant was carrying a camera I got when I worked for the CIA.
This week I took a whole bunch of pictures of my layout and put them in their own post. I figure I’ve Jawboning bout it long enough. Now I think I might have to finish it.
