Photos of Providence, Warren, & Bristol??

Hello All,

Does anyone know where a decent photo site can be located containing quality pictures of the Providence, Warren, & Bristol in its glory days (electric commuter service)? As of late, I have been unable to locate any.

Any help would be sincerely appreciated, as always. [8D]

You might try a library or historical society in the area that that railroad line traversed, though they may not have put their photo collection on the web, necessitating an in person visit during their public hours of operation.

On the Internet (only) ? That might be tough !

Have you done a Google ‘Advanced Search’ and/ or ‘Advanced Image Search’ using that name as an ‘exact wording or phrase’ ?

For instance, that produced the following webpage - see esp. the contents for Vol. 15 Issue 3 1984 and Vol. 17 Issue 1 1986, among possibly others - http://www.nhrhta.org/htdocs/trolley.htm

The other source that comes to mind is a series of collection

There may be some DVD’s put out by the respective agencies as well. I know that the Special Collections Room at the University of Western Ontario has a listing of DVD’s available taken from a collection of 8mm films from a certain minister who worked in a number of locations up this way.

Check out universities as well—you never know what there might be out there

The best single source I’ve found is a back issue of the NY,NH & Hartford Historical Society SHORERLINER periodical profiling the P.W& B. It should be available from their website. I too have scoured the web for material but as you point out it is scarce…
