Photoshop vs photoshop elements

Does photoshop elements do a satisfactory job as a modeler? I want to do things as resize

patterns for awnings and curtains. Also work with photos as part of my background.

Thanks guys

Yes it will. I’ve used the full version of Photoshop for many years and I also currently use Elements version 9. While there are many things Elements won’t do that the humongus version will, it does everything the modeler needs and then some. For instance you can create ‘actions’ in PS but not in Elements, though you can load already created actions in the ‘smaller’ program. You can size and resize to your hearts content as well as work in layers, text etc.

Elements has all the regular PS tools (no measure tool though, if that 's important) and then some, plus 3 different methods of working on photos, … Full, Quick and Guided.

So, yes… for your purpose and most other users Elements is the ticket. One thing, if you’re used to the full version you’ll need to get used to where Elements puts things, it’s a little different. Might I recommend the book "Photoshop Elements 9 the Missing Manual’ if you think you need it. It’s a great book.

Agreed, Elements does everything the average person needs. There are a lot of things that the full photoshop adds but it runs with a longer learning curve. For instance the panorama feature of photoshop is far superior to elements.

I’m still using Elements 2.0 & it meets all my needs as a modeler. jerry
