I just got done airbrushing them. I took the pic on the club layout in a corner that isn’t finished yet. I didn’t want to go crazy. I just wanted the look of a lot of dirt on the sides and a little rust. I got the look from pics of the real things.

Nice work. I need to learn how to do that. In the mean time I will enjoy your talent.
looks just right- enough…but not too much…looks like a well cared for engine- is it an Atlas?
dingoix,
That’s just the look I was after. I didn’t want to overdue it. They are both Spectrum’s. I have Atlas engines that I haven’t done yet. They have more detail the the Spectrum’s.
Awesome
Spectrum’s- how do those run?
Looking good! [tup] [:D]
They run great. They are quiet (not as quiet as my Kato’s). And I got them for a great price (around $23.00 each). They also pull great.
Not bad.
Looks like typical road grime to me! Good job! [tup][tup]
For comparison, here’s a recent pic of a northbound local on SRR tracks in Altavista, VA.

(I wish I hadn’t chopped the noses off the lead and end units, but this one caught me by surprise and I was in a haste to snap the picture. [:I] Oh well, maybe better luck next time…)

cool weathering job!!! Tim
That looks beautiful. I wish I was so skilled with an airbrush.
on the NS engine are those grab bars yellow???
M’kay. What airbrush did you use for that?
Yes. The handrail ends, and coulper cut bar tops are yellow on NS units.
Looks very good. Helps the details comeout on those black engines
Nice job, Turbine! [tup] Really makes a difference on those solid-black models as canazar was saying.
Dave, that’s a fantastic shot of that consist on a trestle. I saw one of those hi-hood SD40s in my neighborhood a few weeks ago…
I like the weathering job. looks great.
Beautiful job and very realistic!
Reminds me of the weathering that I’ve seen on SCL locomotives that were assigned to phosphate train runs.
