Picture post test

Didn’t happen.

Okay, finally got the hang of this picture posting deal!
Here is a picture of my new layout underway.Table frame #1 is 6 feet by 8 feet. 2 more tables to build

Table ready for legs.Cut another 4x8 sheet of foam in half lengthwise with a very sharp large kitcen knife, then laid it in place.
I haven’t glued anything down yet, wanted to trial fit everything and trim if necessary.
So it is finally underway!
My buddy Denny is coming over tonight and we’ll get the leges built and attached and start on table#2.
I am leaving the ends open for now as each table will be keyed to fit into the next one. Once that is done I’ll attach them so they can be easily unattached if I ever have to move this layout.

MORE TO COME!!!

Ed

My P2K 2-8-8-2 on the left, and two of my BLI steam engines on the right.
Just set them there for some inspiration!

One of BLI T1 Duplexes setting on my Walthers 130 foot HO turntable.
need to get the turntable mounted in place, but just had to see what it looked like with the T1 setting on it.
I have 2 T1 Duplexes by BLI, an M1a and an M1b by Bli, and a J1 by BLI.
Also another P2K 2-8-8-2 PRR raod numbers 373 and 376, and a mix of IHC and Bachmann Spectrum steam engines, 22 steam engines in all.
And I finally am getting some practice posting pictures.
In the background is part of my big pile of lumber for building my tables, etc

Okay try one more picture for now.
A lot of work lies ahead!I have some earth tone latex paint I picked up cheap at Walmart to paint the pink foam board with. Also have a lot of both Woodland Scenics foam roadbed and cork roadbed, I think I will elect to use only the foam roadbed, as the opinions I have seen on the forum so far seem to favor it over the cork.
I have a case of each of it.

nice pics ed and nice looking loco’s.sure am glad that my benchwork is built .due to health problems that phase of construction is beyond me now.more pictures please.terry…

I second metalfrog’s motion, nice engines, good start and I got the pics. Await more. Thanks.

Hi guys!
Dennis and I got the legs built this evening and put in place.
I’ll get some more pictures posted soon.
I had the frame and foam top setting on a set of saw horses when I took the pics I have posted now.
Also did some reinforcing of the framework.
About ready to start laying some roadbed and track on the first table.
Present plan is for three 6 foot by 8 foot tables end to end , giving a 6 foot by 24 foot setup to start out with. Can add on more later.
Had planned on doing an extension and go on around the wals of my basement room, but reevaluation told me that project was just too big overall for right now, so scaled it back some.
This will allow me time to think about what I’d like to add later on.
I am also involved in the restoration of very famous vintage airplane right now also, and was asked to become our Chapters EAA Young Eagles coordinator, which will take some of my time also.
Anyone ever hear of Harold Nuemann-and or Benny Howard?
I’m working on an airplane they once flew, a Monocoupe known as “Lil Mulligan” granddaddy to the famous “Mr Mulligan”

Also have several other projects going on besides my trains, so going at it as time allows.

Okay a few more pictures of my progress.
Finished table #1 and added leveling pads as seen in picture.Tbale is very stable with diagonal end braces.
Used 2x4 legs and braces, and it is quite sturdy.
Next are a few pictures of some of my steam engines, and rolling stock.
Just posed them on the table top to give myself some INSPIRATION.

They need weathering, but I’m off and running now!
Got this behemoth project underway!
Pictures are of my IHC Heavy Montains and BLI J1
A pre war K6 Bachmann Spectrum Pacific and some other PRR steam engines I have.
I have 22 in all.
Just thought I’d share these pictures.
Anyone want to come over and help me finish this project?? LOL!
I am going to build two more tables like this one, and place all of them end to end for
a 6 x 24 foot layout table setup.
Later on , I’ll go off one end and go around the walls and come back in on the far end of the tables, but that’s still in the planning stage.
Just had to see what some of this stuff looked like setting on the table top.
Table top heighth is 45 inches.

I want to say thanks to the many, many people who have helped with quetions I had, and who inspired me with pictures of their own layouts.
I have learned a tremendous amount on these forums, and continue to learn.
Reading, watching, learning, it never stops!!!
And it’s a LOT OF FUN!!!

Well, I’m off to get some shut eye , been a long day working on the Pennsy!
