Hey guys. This weekend was surely off the hook!! I had the greatest time. I often tell people that this time of year I get the same exact feeling that I used to get when I was young and Christmas was weeks and days away. Its that great!!
Ok So I am a member of the Mohegan and Pequot Model railroad club and we arrived in Springfield on Thursday night to get up early Friday to set up our Layout. If you were there this weekend we were in the Young Building and I was the Black guy wearing a red sweater and alot of Bling Bling with two Tags with “BIG AL” I did get to meet alot of guys who saw the name and immediately knew who I was and it was cool.
On Saturday the turnout was 10,000+ people. On sunday the total for the weekend was announced at 16,900+ People. I was able to see a good friend of mine Paul Cuttler and the guys from His club South Shore RR Club. Paul you are so cool!!
I made a few good purchases
Soundtraxx 820041 decoder for the Athearn Genesis SD70M with the speaker was a total asking price of $122 I haggled the hell out the guy until he agreed to $97!! I was happy then.
I got a Athearn Genesis SD70M BNSF silver and red for $25 assembled
A Athearn GEnesis Union Pacific SD70M Union PAcific RTR for cheap at $35
Those were my major purchases and I got other minor things too.
The deals there overall were so bad guys!! Very sucky deals. I will not lie. You honestly could do much better all day long on Ebay. Here is a great example, Everyone was selling those Athearn Genesis SD70M and Macs and all genesis for $95+ On ebay they sell new for at most $80. There were very litle deals. Tony from Tonys Train was a short little MR Know it all know nothing Snob. I did not like his attitude towards some of the customers there. I was just watching him deal with them and got mad. SO to investigate his attitude further I asked about the Soundtraxx decoder that he was selling for $114 and could he do it for $

It was nice to meet you, Al, thanks for the compliment. I hope to see you in March at our next show/open house. [:)]
BTW, in the third pic down from the top, the guy in the blue jacket with the buff sleeves with his back to the camera is Peter Palica, a member of my club and scenery guru. He must have been getting some new ideas for our layout in that pic!
Aggro that was so funny I waas just laughing for a few minutes before I started typing. I did not se Armchairdude this weekend. He is lucky to. [;)] I would have had a great time!! LOL Anyway Paul in MArch when you have your show I will be there too. I do alot of driving to go ssee what I want to see.
There was one thing I forgot to mention about the show. I really wanted to get two items this weekend till I saw their cost and said “HELL NO” 1. The gate crossing system complete 2.one or two sets of traffic signal lights for my roads. Now when I saw the prices I wanted to slap the sellers in their head.
Crossing gates alone were $39.99
Crossing gate motors, detectors, and what ever else in that bag $119
So for that set up alone was $160!!! They are crazy and stupid at that cost.
Signal lights 4 way $62.00
signal light operator thingy $38.00
So that is $100 for one four way street.
After I saw that I was so pissed. That was at Berkshire Junction. Wathc out from those guys. I will not be forced to make my own crossing gate motors and all. At tchtechnology.com you can get the detectors for the crossing gates or anything you use them for, for only $7.95. Check that site out and see what they have. I bought two for my set of flashing crossing gate I got for $15. I will just not have any gates coming down thats all. SO what.
