Pictures of Amtrak Bi-levels...

Can some one point me to a place that has some pictures of the 1980’s Amtrak Bi-levels I believe these were ex cnw. I’m looking to model the a couple used on some Illinois services.

They look like this,

Were these cars, used in the Milwaukee - St. Louis thru service for the time it lasted, actually bought by Amtrak? I had though they were leased, returned to the C&NW, and reseated into commuter by-levels.

Try

It does look as though they went back to CNW, although they have moved on…

The long-haul bi-levels stayed with Amtrak and generally were operated on various short-haul routes out of Chicago. They were leased to the RTA for a brief period in the mid-1970’s for service on the Rock Island while that line was being rebuilt and re-equipped. They finished out their service on the Chicago-Valparaiso suburban locals, the only commuter trains operated under the Amtrak name.

BRIDGE ST:

You mentioned wanting to model old Bi-levels with a Chicago Area Heritage that saw service on AMTRAK in their next in carnations.

I thought you might enjoy seeing one that has been reworked and is now in a new life with LORAM as a dormitory car on one of their rail grinders .

It was posted last year(8/10/2011) by MillBay on a Thread about LORAM equipment:
