Here is a some pictures of the toledo edison coal drag into Edion bay shore plant. We chased the train LEGALY from public roads from the NS toledo east west main across the NS toledo river bridge ( not sure about train symbols and numbers ect… dont have that much time) to the edison plant. The power was a GE and EMD. Seems like BNSF always uses a set of GE and EMDs! LOL. Three yrs ago it was either a set of GE GEVOS or two EMD SD70’s. I have pics of the train stalled froma while back not sure why but NS put a EMDSD40-2 on the nose of it and drages it forward!@. LOVE THOSE SD40-2s… I would like to know how much coal comes from the powerd river basin and if any at all comes from the NS coal fields??? I do have some pics of a NS TOPGON coal drag into EDISON last year. GOD BLESS ALL and may he take care of each and everyone of you while you are enjoying our great hobby.

I have been putting a few more pics up now when i have the time. Enjoy all!!! After all rail fanning is for all of us to enjoy and share. I will be adding many more. God Bless all

here is something that may interest you regarding powder river coal

CASPER, Wyo. — Arch Coal Inc., one of Wyoming’s largest mining companies, continues to

look toward Asia as a destination for Powder River Basin coal.

The St. Louis-based company announced Tuesday a deal to ship coal to Asia through a Canadian port near Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

The five-year deal with Canadian firm Ridley Terminals Inc. will give Arch a chance to ship up to 2 million metric tons of coal this year and up to 2.5 million tons each year through 2015.

“This transaction is another important step in accomplishing our strategic objective of expanding Powder River Basin coal sales into the Asia-Pacific region,” said Steven F. Leer, Arch’s chairman and chief executive, in a media release.

It’s the second big move in recent weeks toward West Coast coal export terminals for Arch Coal. On Jan. 12, Arch announced that it was buying a 38 percent stake in a proposed Longview, Wash., coal export facility currently under appeal because of health and climate-change concerns.

Arch operates several mines in Wyoming, including the state’s largest: the Black Thunder/Jacobs Ranch mine in the Powder River Basin. That mine produced 86.4 million tons of coal between January and October 2010 and was on track to produce more than 110 million tons for the year.

sometimes ns cuts the power and leaves the coal train in the siding at archbold ohio.Ns also has some interesting power at the Andersons too.be careful.
