I have been watching for it. Looks like it will be a tough grab. Out of the number of dealers in the US. only two have it listed as coming. One is a europe specialist and only has the AC version. MBklien is the only one with the dc version.
SO the non sound is 229 and the sound version is 319. ESU decoder
roadnames military, a unmarked paint, and strangely MAryland midland. Only those three.
They are limited run. and even tougher to get a dc version for US. so plan on getting one as soon as it hits the street.
Some years ago, I had an opportunity to acquire a 65 ton Whitcomb diesel (a real one, not a model) for free, so began to organise a means to get it from the donor to our farm, about 20 miles away.
I was getting some pretty good support from two local railroads, and needed only to arrange for a truck and crane to bring the loco from the nearest local tracks, when I suddenly learned that railroad cars and locomotives (along with street cars and I guess anything else that ran on rails) were specifically not allowed in our area - no exceptions.
yeah. Seams like a lost cause. Everybody has the ac version. Mbklien is the only one with dc. And no preorder. I am not getting my hopes up but will watch to see. Originally I was planning to get the shapeways shell and using the recommended sw chassis. might be the end result.
