Good luck with the dog. Best dog I ever had (a Lab) had seizures all his life.
Try soaking the model a little longer and then maybe try 91% alcohol. I just realized I have never stripped a P2K, but ONLY Pine-Sol will strip old Rivarossi tenders.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Polly S ELO paint stripper has worked on everything I’ve ever redone. It works slow and steady and doesn’t harm any plastic I’ve ever soaked, and has lifted any paint I’ve ever run into. Seems like stripping questions come up real regular around here.

I heard that 97% Rubbing alcohold makes the P2K paint melt right off.

I have had good success with Pinesol removing testors paint from Undecs, Bachmann paint, and Athearn paint.

Pine sol has little if any effect on P2K paint.

Use 91% isopropyl alcohol.

I recently sripped a P2K SW 9/1200. It took a week of trial and re-trial. I used Pine Sol, soaking for a couple hours and got the green off (it was a green & orange GN). The orange didn’t udge. I soaked it in 99% isopropal alcohol for 14 hours and the orange didn’t budge. So I asked on this forum, and someone suggested Polly S ELO (Easy Lift Off). Hurray, it works. Not fast mind you, but it works. I think the issue was that there was some sort of sealer on the orange. Once the sealer is stripped the paint comes off with scrubbing using a toothbush and some elbow grease. Good luck on your stripping and painting.
