Ping Pong table layout

Here’s an interesting idea for a portable, folding, and rolling layout.

Squeezed alot of track onto this one. Look at how tight to the edges this layout is.

Thought some of you might get some ideas from this. I’m not the seller.

It’s a genious idea, and I think it’s well built and thought about. Thanks for the link!

Ping pong tables are definitely good for trains layouts. My layout at my apartment here in Regina is built on a ping pong table that I bought cheaply for that very purpose.

Hey Chief, at lest you would be off the floor. You should go for it

Do you think magnetraction would work on the vertical section? The transition back to horizontal might be difficult.

For 2 grand at least he could have painted the table green like grass! But I guess this is a Florida water layout.

Man, what a great idea! Thanks for sharing!

It’s an interesting track plan. Three loops of track would guarantee a lot of action. However, placing the tracks right to the edge of the table is a recipe for disaster!
I don’t believe it’s worth the price.

I would second dtpowell. With these eBay layouts, I’m always thinking what could be done from scratch with that sort of money. My first layout as a kid was a huge figure 8 on a ping pong table that took up an entire bedroom, but the table was light and easily jostled - I can remember our constantly derailing everything when moving around the table.

Doug,
That’s so funny. I remember my brother had a Lionel HO setup on our pingpong table and the same thing would happen. Just a little bump and all the train cars ended up on their sides. Good memories though.
