Pix from my new camera...read on.

I just got a new camera for christmas, a Kodak EasyShare Z760. Some pics I took today:

First ones, of the IC GP10 on display in town.

Will post more in a few hours!

Is it operational?

No. I believe once it was retired by the IC it was presented to the City of Carbondale, along with the caboose… I bet it would run though.[;)]

OK, I said i’d post some more pictures. Here they are.

IC freight stops to pick up grain cars in a siding to the left.

Amtrak 392:

392 passes the stopped freight.

Brakeman (left) and engineer get back onto the locomotive.

Engineer checking something in the engine compartment.

IC’s finest

Brakeman getting ready to throw the switch.

Hey, nice shots. and no better way to use a new camera than on our favorite subject.

I have to Truly wounderfull Photo’s. Very very nice job. Also,Have fun with your new Camera. Allan.

…What megapixel rating does it have…it sure produces nice clear pic’s.

It’s a 6.1 megapixel… I shot all the pics at 1.7 though… lower the MP’s the more pics I can store.[8D]

And lastly for the night, some pics of an “accident” I staged with my display train…[:o)]

[:o)][:o)][:p]

Hey! Don’t do that to the Partridge Family![:)]

OK, here’s a reshoot! Some of you guys who get bullied by the popos railfanning will like this one.[}:)]

ICG/IC 8701 is the first GP11 rebuild from 1979. This is the pinnacle of the rebuilt geeps from Paducah. Inclusion of -2 electrical components made them state of the art at the time.

Nice photos but it takes a long time for all the images to get loaded in dial up so the pages bounce around a lot while you are trying to focus on an image. Sort of makes me dizzy. I might go with high speed but none is available in my neighbor hood unless I add cable TV to the package…that will be the day…

Mabee you can get high speed internet without the TV services. We have a few customers that only have the internet, it can be done.

Here’s some more pix… today’s events on the UP Chester Sub and CN Centralia Sub. Here’s part 1… will add part 2 in a little while.

The lights I have been waiting for:

An elephant style lashup, SD70M 4667 and SD40-2 3184 sandwiching a C41-8W:

Another shot of the “elephants”:

Some WSOR boxcars.

A white tank car rounds up the consist.

The train rounds the curve.

A high green means you know what!

The lights of another southbound.

Power is a AC6000CW and a “triclops” 60M.

Another shot of the power.

Never heard of this railway before.

Just felt like shooting this.

Wow, very nice photos. I especially like the Photos with the headlights just barely visible.

Ok, time for part 2…

Western Pacific still exists!

The “cannabalized” UP autorack…

A New Madrid bound coal drag (probably the CNAAE)

The CNAAE’s DPU:

Nice pix. They do make the window bounce a bit while loading (and I’ve got highspeed DSL)

My HO layout used to be an 8x8 with two loops-an inner and an outer, where the two ran in circles with an x-damond connecting the inner and outer loops. The table was slightly slanted, and every once in a while a coupler would catch on the crossing, I wouldn’t notice, and pow, I’d broadside the car as the train rounded the loop and hit the diamond to cross onto the other loop.

Nice to see there’s still IC power out there.
