Was down there yesterday & spent several hours at the Amtrak station there. Saw 3 UPRR & 1 BNSF in about 4 hours watching time.

Brings back memories of being at the same spot about five years back while on vacation and a UP crew invited me up into the cab of their Dash9, very interesting cab tour.

To bad there were not more trains but it was what it was! Yes I try to railfan wherever I am going for other reasons [:)]
Interesting stuff.
I spent about a week and a half in San Antonio back in July. Our hotel was right next door to the depot. Saw some interesting consists go through. NS and CN power, green goats, etc.
Saw Amtrak a few times. Couldn’t get a trackside view room, but I heard plenty of trains 24 hrs a day.
