Need I say more, eagerly waiting for information… [:-^][%-)][zzz]
Wireless internet connections work in bars. No excuses for this lack of communication from the front lines. [;)]

Called John F this evening, guess they were all out late drinking, carousing, and carrying on. Something about Wes doin wheelies in the scooter, and Buckeye trying to find a trailer to pull home for all his loot. I had heard that Lionel was going to cut back on the BIG engines due to finances, but are reconsidering after the unexpected BAIL OUT PLAN offered by the Ohio contingent.
Tomorrow’s activities sound a little subdued, but am sure the activities will be at a frenzy level
Hope everyone has a great time !
Some of the our local Vermont crew are reporting that the Lionel display is nothing short of spectacular! Last couple of York’s it was the Grand Central display, but this time it has subways, an honest to goodness elevated line and more. I’m thinking this was the display that was being built in the pictures posted here earlier this week. Come Roger! Let’s SEE an article on this layout! Jon [8D]
Seems Roy is the only sober one in the bunch. [:O][(-D] Thanks Roy for the info.
**Roy…**thanks for the update. Be sure you and the boys remind the CTT photographer to use the red-eye reduction feature on the camera to mitigate the results of the bar convention venue. [swg]

No York report yet, but Kent went down to the Chicago Hobby Show and reported that Model Power is offering O scale figures WITH FIBER OPTICS, and they had cards for a figure with jackhammer, a miner with a helmet light, a worker holding a lantern, a kneeling worker with a flashlight, and a man smoking a cigar.
This sounds very clever - a great attention grabber. Wonder how they’re powered. Can’t wait to see them in Bob’s Train Box [;)]
Okay I’m confuse the only post I see is from Jon or Kooljock where is Roy’s post ?
Thanks for the post anyway Jon at least were getting a little news here and there.
RT - Roy had a post up on the Coffee Pot, he discussed Thursday activities somewhat.
Thank to Bob for putting up the letter from Jerry C., that was good news. Don’t IF much less whenever I would be able to buy one of the Vision Engines, but sure like to see the development, and features to come.
Don know what you mean about buying one of those engines I would have to sell just about every engine I have just to get one of those lol. Then I wouldn’t have the room to run it as the wide radius it takes [:-^][banghead]
The Coffee Pot Photo was shall I say less then well attended. Only MartyE and I were there. I posted the photo in the Coffee Pot thread.
York is always such fun. I really saw some bargains. My buddy bought a ton of stuff, including at ZW that was really clean for $150, a Williams FM Trainmaster for $125 and a K-Line Milwaukee Road Custom painted Engine and Box Car for $75 and a Milwaukee Road custom painted caboose for $50. My other buddy collected mostly MTH Ore cars and was able to pick up some good bargains on older cars that are no longer in production.
There was a Lionel Western Maryland Shay and two sets of log cars that were priced at $900 that really tempted me, but with our son not yet having a JOB, I restrained my impulsivity. But do not fear that I walked away empty handed. I picked up a WM Tank Car that I did not have and then the best bargain I found was 3 - Railbox freight cars that I got for $10 each. I also have been looking for a Pre-War Lionel Jr 1700 E. I think I am going to go back today to see if I can pick up the shells that I saw at one table and a motor at another able and combine them to make a set. It will depend if the motor runs OK and if both sellers are willing to bargain on price.
Had a great time with my two college buddies on Friday. We meet for Breakfast and then walk the show until our feet can’t stand it any more, then we go visit with a retired Principal who has a table in the Red Hall and shoot the breeze with him for a while before we head home. Yesterday we went to one friend’s house to see his layout, very impressive with 11 loops of various different scales. He was formerly an Art teacher so he has really done a great job with his layout.
Take care,
Mitch
Many detailed reports are now available on the OGR forum. Some even have MTH prototype photos, taken outside of the Halls.
My reports are on the pot, but I will say one other thing, the Lionel display knocked your socks off. The subway and light rail cars were being put through their paces. Lionel sets were prominently displayed. The Fast Track does not make any noise on the Lionel layout. [8D] Lionel still uses the old truss bridge on the display, the same as I painted orange. In fact, Lionel is now painting the bridges orange…and I will take the credit since mine have been orange for years.
Prices — My Willams locomotives were less than 1/2 MSRP.
People — Orange hall was crowded. Everybody seemed to have taken a bath. [8D]
Food — I had a chicken wrap which was very good in the Orange Hall.
Lodging — Quiet, not crowded.
RMT — Met Walter. My Ohio Central Beeps are on their way. A-B-B-A Beef is a neat set up, especially in Santa Fe livery.
MTH – Saw Mike…Obviously did not play football or hockey.
Atlas — This is where we are going to see quiet seady improvement. The Atlas Steamer looks really stupid when you see it in person. Way too small!!!
We could read the forum on the Blackberry, but could not post on forum. Of course, when you change the forum…WHAT DO YOU EXPECT!!!
Met the staff at CTT. Nice booth, but needs to be more inviting. (See trade show booths 101 for more information on making a display more inviting.)
Met Mike Reagan, another Buckeye and the new guy at Lionel. I convinced him to build just CSX engines from now on. No more NS for the Chief. My charm did it again!
