I have laid out my G scale track plan in the garden and would like to add some strucyures such as a passenger station, water tank, and would like to try scratchbuilding them. I have seen some plans on BannerWorks but are there any others?? How do I get back issues of Garden RR

Contact the magazine publisher for avalabilaty of back issues it is a US publisher
as for drawings of other structures.
Model Railroader there are also a number of structures for your model railroad publications by the same publisher as the Garden railways and Model railroader mags
You could also go and talk to the proto type railroads and see if they are willing to get you copies of their building plans unfortunatly that opption may have closed in todays climate
Other model railway magazines also have structure drawings in them from time to time
some of which may be of use
Oh and don’t forget to measure you own house you live in a building plan you could build that as is or convert it to a station or country store all in model form of course.

Welcome to the forum! Glad to have you here. I like what John said regarding measuring out your own house and building a replica. Back in the “old” days many buildings were very similar in construction. For instance a Bank and a Saloon would generally be the same building with a few cosmetic changes. Take a look at pics. of the ready made buildings from the various manufacturers and you will see what I mean. All my buildings were made by looking at pictures of what I wanted and then drawing full size plans on old computer printer paper. Remember “dot matrix” printers? Some had the really wide paper which is useless now except for me and the kids to draw on. When you draw your own plans you will be able to easily see what looks right and what does not. I encourage you to give this a try and build a small shed for starters. It really is not that hard and you will learn how to make more complex structures from there. I have had a lot of fun doing this. Remember these will be for YOUR railway so don’t worry if everything is not exactly to scale on your first attempt. As you grow and learn you can fine tune your skills and tackle “Master Craftsman” projects. Have fun building. Later eh…Brian.
