Plastruct Vertical Tank Kit (HO Kit - 1018)

I purchased the Plastruct vertical tank kit to supply one of the industries on my layout. I plan on having a siding where I will spot a tank car to fill the tanks too. I assume that the level gage pipes are just for checking the contents level.

I want to add piping for loading and unloading and am not sure where to glue them.

I called Plastruct for help, but they were too busy to help and said they would phone back. They never did!

Your help would be much appreciated.

Gord.

Too bad we’re having to deal with all this heighten security, otherwise all you need to do is go take some photographs at an oil storage facility. However, I see plenty near me and on the way to and from work. I can see pipes going every which way above ground with valves, but I believe most of the pipes run under ground with a little pump house nearby. I expect the pipe used to empty the tank could be the same pipe used to fill it. Every company has their own way of doing things, so that gives you some “Modeler’s License” to place it where you think is best.

Here are some examples of other kits that show piping.
