Think I will take a trip over to home depot or lowes and get some 3x4" cheap plywood. I don’t want like a #1 grade.
How does Momma and the baby like the Train inside?
Well, the trains take up a small corner of the washroom. The picutres I took unfortuantely had to be set up and torn down. I am saving for a cedar fence that will keep out the riff-raff and animals.
Until then, I have to work on things I can accomplish.
The Daughter loves the trains, the wife if tolerent.
Captain, I’m envious of your motivation and focus on this hobby. Your structures look Great! I have at my disposal a pile of wood and many tools, however at the end of my day or week I find myself not wanting to touch either of them.
Thanks for the kind words, I find I really enjoy doing these things, sometimes in the wee hours of the morning. Both of these structures were made while I was wathcing “Emeril Live,” it is a perfect relaxation technique.
I wish I had your carpentry skills, these structures may not survive.[:(] I am pleased with the skills I developed, though.
Iwant your warehouse, it would look great on my layout. I have just the spot for it…[;)] Seriously though, the buildings look awesome !!!

If you would like to build (improve) on the design of the Warehouse, please do. I would love to see your take on it. That goes for everyone, if you can make improvements to the design of the “Two Trees Warehouse” I would be honored.
It is based on some now long-raised trackside structures in Alice and Falfurrias, Texas. These are not based on any one prototype but rather on sketchy memories and current need.

i really like the way the wharehouse doors turned out. can you provide any details on how they were constructed?[:D]
The doors are really quite simple. First I look through a bag of “skink sticks” to find the ten (20 all together) most unwarped. Then I place them side-by-side, this produces the backboard of the door. I did this based on a door I saw in Kingsville, Texas.
Then I cut some skinny sticks to run “perpendicular” to the ten, this forms a “brace.” I then glued these braces to the ten. The “X’s” are then carefully cut forming that nice effect.
