The reason for this thread is regrettable. Our hobby is clearly a sensitive one for all of us, as our tiffs show from time-to-time. I don’t like to see anyone have to excuse themselves, but we are all human in our train rooms, and sometimes it is the best thing to do.
Guy, let the heated air blow by![;)] Photography is your hobby as well, so continue to comment. As long as it is “constructive” criticism that is intended to help (not tear down) a person…then it should be welcomed.
Make a quick personal analysis of your past comments and see what category they fit in, (helpful, positively toned, harshly toned, a bit abrasive, insightful, or a combination of one or more of these), then go from there.
Now, continue to contribute and let’s get on with enjoying trains and the fun aspects that go with them…such as photography. I’ve been saying for the longest but I will be posting photos soon. I expect your input!
Sorry, I should have specified some info. Might make more sense then.
The unit on the left (CP Rail Action Red) is a mid-80’s brass import from Van Hobbies, custom painted by a good friend. He also installed fiber optic marker and head lights as well as lighted number boards. Rather high tech for mid 80’s electronics. A very good runner, pulls like crazy.
The unit on the right is an Atlas RS11 that is being converted to a BC Rail RS18. Of course I got about 3/4 of the way done when HobbyCraft announced their RS18. It will get finished some day, but is a lower priority.
The table they are sitting on is an actual late 1800’s antique, passed down in the family. It was my fathers desk at home when he was growing up.
Thanks to all who have offered their input, I still await R. T. POTEET comments.
The rest of the units (I am not very happy with the auto-focus (for close in photos like models) on the digital camera I am using, maybe some thoughts on that aspect?):
