Plowing snow with live-steam locomotives

x-o-lent operation, congrats !!!

Very good video. Would like to see more of the trials and tribulations of snow removal

One way to prevent the plow from derailing is to add weight to it. I would add about 50% of the locomotive’s drawbar bull, or in this case push, to the plow ,and save the rest of the force for plowing.

Nice! glad we don’t have that white stuff down here, brr.

Loved it. Miss the snow and loved the train layout.

Very impressive models! If they are able to plow wet snow that well, how would they do in dry powder?

I put a common brick in the Arsto plow and keep my line open if I can clear the track before there is more than 3" on the rails with my white pass LGB alco. Most of the time my RR is running until the Jan1, after I can’t Keep up with snow.

When I get my layout built I will have to do the same with mine. thanks for the instructional video!!!

Wow, first time I even thought snow could be fun. Loved this! Glad I live by the ocean in CA.

Loved it. Too bad we don’t get a little snow here. I’m envious.

Great viewing! Down here there is no snow, so I don’t know any one with the Aristo snow plow. I have seen a utube of a home made rotary snow plow clearing the tracks, but the Aristo did about the same job.

great layout.love it.keep up the plowing.

South California is exempt from snow. Thank GOD.

I wish that redwood tree trash and forest duff could be handled by my shay as well as these handled snow. Great video really enjoyable.

Very good video. Although we rarely get snow down here in Alabama, fast and large uncontrollable growing weeds are a major problem with my outdoor railway. If Matthew Ebbert from Alabama (Whose name is above mine on this page) sees this message, I would love to meet you. I haven’t been able to find anyone in my area who is knowledgeable about garden railroading. I live in Jacksonville, AL, above Anniston, between Birmingham and Atlanta, GA. Living on the South Coast we get very little snow, however would love to try it out this winter if we do get snow…Fingers Crossed.

WOW…The little engines that could!

The snow is a little out of scale but all in all great.

Yeah, that’s very good. I didn’t know there were such small live steam locos available. And Shays, too. Excellent.
