pls help me to identify...

Can anyone help me to access information on a ride on toy train? It is gorgeous, nearly pristine and somewhat old I’m told, but don’t know for sure. It is a ride on FAO Express Train and locomotive #96. It is a locomotive and two trailing cars and is battery operated. I need to identify it and there is no maker on it. Only made in Italy. And I’m Italian and that doesn’t help! lol! Anyway, can anyone direct me to a place where I can identify this and perhaps get a faceplate for the locomotive. I have digital photos of it in my front yard if that would help.

There are several sites on the web with ride on toys. I’ll post a few below. If you want to send the photo email to jkoryta@insightbb.com

The “FAO” sort of begs to be from FAO Schwartz toys. They list a few ride on toys but none quite like you have indicated. Age may not be our friend with this one!

Ciao Mary Ann,

Why didn’t my parents ever give me one of these… Must be great as child…Well I am still not old enough to be a good father myself, so I must do some websurfing on these items myself.

Can you post a picture and give us the size of the thing?
Are there any marks or names on it?

Greetings
Egbert

I think the companys name is Peg Perego as we have a ride on train with a tender and car and I’ve researched others and most seem to be made by that same Italian manufacturer.
