Pls verify my Chessie and Conrail loco rosters

Folks,

I am going to model a fictional soutern VA town in the early 1980s. It will have Conrail carrying grain, wheat, etc. from the Mid-west through the town toward the Carolinas and a Chessie coal drag coming from the mountains. Below are rosters of CR and CO I compiled using numerous internet resources. Doing so will help me model the most popular locos for these lines. Can you pls look these rosters over to verify the accuracy? Am I missing something obvious such as other lines to model? I know Athearn or Atlas makes these models, which is good news!

Conrail:

GP7 4 axle 368

GP40 4 axle 275

GP38-2 (yard switchers) 4 axle 300+

GP38 4 axle

Without having resources to consult, your information looks essentially viable. During that time period Conrail also had GP40-2’s, SD50’s, numerous pre-Dash 7 GE’s, C30-7’s, C30-7A’s and GP15-1’s. Also, unless your fiction includes run-through power or trackage rights, CR did not own any routes in southern VA.

Don’t forget the GE units for Chessie and the SD7/9/35s and 50s. 90% of the SD50s were C&O units. GP30 and 35s also

A good resource for roster and pics is Dean Heacock’s photo archives
