POCATELLO — Police closed a stretch of South Second Avenue Friday morning after Union Pacific employees reported shots were fired at an open box car near where they were working.
Nobody was hurt, police and railroad officials said. The workers reported the shots at 11 a.m.
“Some of their employees reported someone was firing a firearm, probably a .22-caliber, at some of the box cars out there,” said Pocatello Sgt. Steve Van Vliet. “They claimed they were near were the rounds were landing.”
We’ve had problems around here in the past with hunters/teenagers shooting out some of the signals. I guess nothing says “bullseye” quite like a red-lit searchlight signal.
Back in the 80’s when I was going to school at Idaho State University, I was taking a run up a trail called City Creek trail on the west side of the valley. I came across a bunch of guys who were machine gunning to death a poor sapling. AK-47’s, Uzi’s, I don’t know for sure - needless to say I didn’t stick around long enough to find out. I just turned around and got the big H out of there!
There’s a reason the Islamofascists will attack the blue states first, not the red ones!
