Hi,
Years ago, I took my wife and mother on a train excursion run by the Ontario Northland Railway, called the Polar Bear Express. It took us from Cochrane to Moosonee and back. It was a great trip, one that I highly recommend, now that the province is trying to sell the railway.
And the best thing is the price. The Province of Ontario actually pays for $400 of the cost of the ticket! Probably one of the reasons for wanting to sell the railway. But it is a tremendous experience, so take up the Province of Ontario’s offer to subsidize your trip!
Now to get back to my patch. I collect a railway patch for every rail trip I’ve been on. Everyone but the Polar Bear Express. They stopped making them a few years before I rode the rails, and when they stopped making them, I’m told that the staff bought up the rest of the patches.
Sure I could get the Ontario Northland Railway patch, but that’s not the name of the excursion train they run.
I’ve spent years looking for one of these patches, and I’m not even close to getting one. Heck, I don’t even know what one looks like.
So, if you can do me a favour and get me one of these patches, your help would be greatly appreciated. [bow]
