If you get the DCC ready version don’t make the same mistake I did and buy just a regular DH123 or similar decoder. Because it’s not equipped with resistors, the low voltage bulbs will burn out the instant you run it on DCC (as do most P2Ks). Get a Digitrax DH163L0 for it.
I found it. I found the “real” Polar Express. The Grand Canyon Railway operates the train during the Christmas season between Williams, Arizona and the “North Pole.”
The railway uses former Southern Pacific Harriman-style, round-roofed coaches (of the 72-C-1, -2, -3, and/or -4 classes) 80’6" long overall, in olive green livery for the train:
The railway has a steam locomotive it operates on special occasions, former CB&Q Mikdado (2-8-2) no. 4960. The railway’s normal motive power, however, is an FPA-4. The railway’s regular/daily train to/from the Grand Canyon is made up of more modern passenger cars (coaches, dome cars, parlor/observation car).
By the way, the railway has 61 (little) bridges, an average of one per mile.
