Best I can do is offer that folks have been trying to train me since I was born. Absolutely none have claimed success.
(That was a groaner. Sorry, guys. [:-^])

Sonny’s made deliveries?
You’re right. Okay, I was born in the year the last standard gauge steam locomotive was erected and stood on the rails in America. It was Norfolk & Western’s Y6b #2200.
I just turned 50 last Fall (but my mental/physical age has been kind of stuck at late 30s since my late 30s, lol). I picked “40-50” instead of “50-60” because it looked like I had a choice. [(-D]
As far as “railroad-like,” I was born into a world where Amtrak already existed, so I probably would identify with 40-somethings more than 50-somethings anyway. [:P]
I was born on May 1. The day of Amtrak’s birthday and Ronald Reagan being president of U.S.
Got half built 1st layout. It was going to desert theme than changing it into 1940s-late/mid 1930s. Until I get a bigger place I’ll start NYC/Conrail.
I was born when the R-10 subway car made its debut.
I was born the year that the EMD GP35 came out, and Kennedy was still President for a few more months. As far as shape goes, I do mountain biking with my 20 something year old sons once or twice a week, so I must be doing pretty good. Yes, I do still jump off the ramps…tons of fun.
I am 65 and was born when Louise St. Laurent was Prime Minister.[:|]
I am in excellent shape and have snuck up into superior shape (better than excellent) in one category, my physical age being rated in the mid-40s. BP 105/60, resting heart rate 40ish, body fat between 10% and 15% depending on what a gluttonous pig I am or how much rum I drink. I never nap, am rarely sick and can go all day and all night.[:-^]
The last CP Fairbanks Morse Trainmaster rolled off the assembly line in 1957. I have two on the layout.
Here they are a long time ago.
FDR was in his second term when I showed up
I was born during the first term of Franklin D Roosevelt.
I was born during Harry S Truman’s 1st term (partial after FDR died).

Charles) Thanks for posting the results. Interesting results indeed!

Nothing railroad-y about Truman?
On August 25, 1950, in anticipation of a crippling strike by railroad workers, President Harry S. Truman issues an executive order putting America’s railroads under the control of the U.S. Army, as of August 27, at 4:00 pm.
— and he did ride the Ferdinand Magellan on several occasions:

Not nearly as often as FDR, of course.

I tell my grandkids that I’m not as old as dirt but I did plant the first tree. It really shocked them a couple summers ago when I took a drink from the garden hose. They had to run and tell Nana.
Pete.
Pete,
But did you feed the hose into the ground after you were done with the water still running??? That’s something probably EVERY kid in FL has done at least once in his or her lifetime - LOL! Course I never did. [:-^]

Forgot I didn’t put in my condition, my doctor is anoyed on the good side. At almost 70 I can still do construction though my tollerance for heat has gone down and I can’t go on a long hike without water or other beverage (no beer dose not count). I generally walk about 25 miles a week and 3 years ago went on a 12 mile hike with parts that were at a 45degree angle. I was motivated to get in better shape when I saw my mother go down hill, remember that every time I say I don’t need that long hike.
Tom.
I was planting some stuff in the garden. So yes I did shove the hose in the ground. I believe it was a Japanese maple in red but a dwarf. Nana likes them. The thing had a million of the helicopter seeds the year after and last year I picked out about a dozen seedlings. I’m curious to see how many survived the winter.
They would be great for a garden railroad.
Pete.
I was one of every kid in Florida who did that on more than one occasion. [8D] Now I live in a place where a pick ax, a mattock, and two shovels are needed just to put up a fence post or plant flowers!
