At a meeting of the San Diego Model Railroad Club. I heard the building where
the Pomona Valley Model Railroad Club is located, in Pomona has been sold.
The new owner plans to remodel the building, and the club has to move out
by the end of August. Is there any futher news about this?
Sounds like a double wammy in Pomona - since the Citrus Empire O Scale club (2 rail) lost their spot at the LA county fair in Pomona also.
Sad but true. I stopped by for their most recent open house last month and heard that they were about to begin demolition. This is not unexpected. Word was out about a year ago. No word yet about plans for relocation. Perhaps someone from the club can elaborate. It’s a real loss to the area, but given the cost of real estate hear in So Cal, I surprised that any club survives. It’s one of those good news/bad news situations. The good news is that downtown Pomona is experiencing revitalization. The bad news… well, you know.

Hopefully both clubs find locations where they can begin anew. As was stated, the cost of real estate keeps going up here in So Cal and just about anyplace is likely to be at a premium these days.
