Port Jervis line returns to pre-storm schedule
WELL DONE!
Vermont, with three times as much damage, had it’s lines restored 3 weeks after the fact except for one bridge which took a few weeks longer and was restored to service a few days before New York awarded the bid for this restoration!
Vermont only has one train a day in each direction. The Port Jervis line is jut a little busier than that.
Vermont did it with privately run railroads (VRS and NECR).
Metro North is a brain dead government bureaucracy.
At least one MTA agency has some competence. We’d love to see some of that on Long Island.
