Yet more bridge . Because of the nature of the track I

If anyone is still interested…

Finally some finished pictures, some misc scenery to add but its 95% completed, I suppose I’ll be adding stuff to it from here on out, as this is likely going to be my only layout for the time being. Thats OK I have lots of ideas to add to this layout, I’m discovering that one realy doesnt need a yard or basement full of track to have fun, after all for me its all about the modeling so as long as I have stuff to model I’ll be doing just fine

Definitely still interested! Been waiting for an update, in fact! Thanks. -Jon

I forgot I had a thread here so time for an update, I dismantled my large indoor layout for space issues, so I used all the bits from that layout to build a mobile large scale layout, even that went thru a convoluted design evolution, including adding fold down sections that didnt work, I am now at this stage:

here is a full pic, kinda crowded but it gives a good idea of its overall environment:

The upper layout is the layout from this thread, it is removable, I designed it so the top could go to shows, but so far its only been to one (1) show since 2008…so I might just fix it permanantly.

The layout is 5’-6" square

more scenery done, at least to what I consider the “base level” of scenery

For some reason with the forum format, I can only load 2 pics at a time so…

If anyone is interested here is a Link to the GR site where you can follow how it got from the two track version to the new three level “wedding cake” as its been called.

Not that anyone over here seams to give a fig [;)] but I guess I can say that the scenery is done, well for now:

You can see some of the scale “junk” in these pics, I have always found typical model RRs to way to clean

Got a short video of the layout to date:

The train is an uber-cheeser Lionel job I got on extreme sale for $30 at Big Lots, found out why as the drive was busted - but it was fixable, so now I’m experimenting with seeing what its potential is. Likely loose everything from the wheels up and scratch something better looking on it.

Well for now, that’s all folks [swg]

R2… Where are you???

I really like your scenery. I enjoy MRR’s with detail like yours. With so much going on you forget how small the layout actually is and can find something new with every look.

Thanks, that was the big idea, forget sweeping vista and broad scenic wonder, aint got the room for all that, instead to consider and utilize every square inch, Micro not Macro. I’m still making tin cans right now and some additional ROW “junk” on the layout, also be nice if I could find or make a few scale spikes. Oh well no hurry.
