Is there a “REAL” possiblity of Commuter Rail in the Phoenix/Tucson areas and beyond? I found this article from another site, and thought I would post a link to the information for those that may be interested in NEW HAPPENINGS IN ARIZONA.

Unless the federal government ponies up the cost of building the line, don’t count on it happening in our lifetime. This proposal has been discussed on and off for several years now and not one dime has been allocated for construction.
I remember hearing this proposed rail line way back in the 1970’s even before I-10 became so congested. The proposal then was to build it in the median between the I-10 lanes; however, they can’t do that now because the median has been turned into traffic lanes in several locations.
The State of Arizona is almost $2 billion in the red and has many other projects on hold that have a higher priority than commuter rail.
