I found these while browsing through our local Dollar Tree.
Bought a package and brought them home to experiment. I cut the edge with a hobby knife.
I then peeled the material back from the styrofoam.
When completely removed, each pellet contains a section of grass about 5 inches long by 2 inches wide.
I glued them around the foundation of Drew’s Deere.
The grass almost seems a little too green so I sprinkled some sifted sand and some Woodland Scenics Earth Blend blended turf on top.

That looks great! Craft stores and Wally mart sell bags of moss too. Usually though the flat moss pieces have dirt clumps on the back. Either way it makes an excellent ground cover!
Heck of a find! I don’t need any scenic material but nothing wrong with hoarding some packages for later use. Looks like I have a reason to go with my girlfriend to dollar tree. Thanks for the tip.
Not a bad tip at all, I still have some unused plant toppers from Micheal’s so i won’t be running to the dollar tree for awhile.
