Last night, I was unsuccessful in trying to re-program the address on an Atlas with the dual mode decoder, on a Digitrax SEB, with a DB150 power supply. I gave up, and left it at 03. I’m affraid somewhere along the process, I did something to change the way the system now runs. An Atlas, a Spectrum, and a Kato all want to come to a dead stop, after running flawlessly, for about 3 or 4 minutes. A simple turn of the throttle (Digitrax DT400) one notch, all start back up. I can throttle up or down, and no problems. I put the throttle back in the holder, to watch the train run, and after a few short minutes, it stops suddenly again. Once again, a turn of the throttle one “click”, and all is good. This continues on and on. Something changed, and I don’t know what it is.
Any thoughts? Once again, this is a Digitrax Super Empire Builder with a DT400 throttle. It has worked excellent until now, and I think it’s something I did in my frustration to try and reprogram the address on an Atlas Master series with the dual mode decoder.
Try an DB option switch reset using option switch 39. It will clear the memory of stored addresses from the commaand station. Instructions are towards the back of the owners manual. There are four modes of programming Pg, Ph, Pd and Po to use for programming addresses. If Pg does not work try Ph. or Pd modes. Po is usually used for changing CV values.
The on off behavior suggests that you somehow have all the locos selected on a different throttle. Try dispatching each one and see if it helps. The OPSW cure will also work if this is the case.
OK, thanks guys. The DB reset 39 cured it all. I also had sent Digitrax help desk an email, and I got the same info from them.
I think in my efforts to change the Atlas loco address is where I messed it up. I also have done some serious reading of the manuals that came with it. Everything is there, if you actually read it. [*-)]
