Post A Best Or Favourite Photo of Something Of Yours

For something a little different, post a photo of something that is on your layout or something you own if it is on a club layout. It can be of anything from the church mouse to a favourite structure, scene, locomotive or piece of rolling stock. Please limit it to one photo per post. We did this years ago and got some pretty amazing photos.

How about my first N scratch build. I’ve since fixed the ‘light leakage’ around the roof!

Well unfortunately I have not yet done any modeling, so I’ll share this photo of my currently operational locomotive fleet, with some others still in the shop. Pictured left to right is PRR 4-6-2 #5353, B&O 2-8-0 #2788, PRR 4-6-2 #5492, and PRR 2-6-0 #7080.

Hey, it’s the middle of winter. What better time to do some modeling. February is always the peak month for me.

Great topic. This might only be interesting to me, but it is an attempt to model the company my dad (and his brother and sister) inherited from my grandfather in South Boston MA. Nothing special about the modeling (like most of my layout :grinning:) but special to me.

Thnx Rich, couldn’t agree more!

@Tophias
Are those the OOP Walthers modulars you used for that build?

They look bigger than Walthers. I’m gonna guess DPM modulars.

Rich

They’ll inspire the scenery! Nice looking fleet.

@richhotrain
My reasoning for thinking those are Walthers ones is my kitbashed engine house here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/59D36nSyVPuanBu29
This was built as part of my prior layout with the Walthers Cornerstone modulars and the roof and wall cornices look very similar and the windows don’t look like the standard DPM ones either.

Oh, how to pick only one favorite? Well, If I really have to narrow it down I’d say it would be this New York Central P-2b ‘motor’. I rode behind it once in the run from Harmon to Grand central in New York.

They used to run in Cleveland (a wee bit before I came along) only less than a mile from our house. Plus they were made by GE where I spent a good part of 39 years, so, yes, a favorite.

Ain’t that the truth. I keep looking at my photo collection, and I have yet to post one.

So, which is it? Walthers or DPM?

FRRYKid, and Rich, yes, it’s bashed from the Walthers 3-In-1 kit. Interestingly, when I assembled it many years ago it had no specific intention and was originally just an engine facility outbuilding. No real defined purpose. Then it came to me just last year I could put it in an industrial section across the layout, and then the inspiration as I was doing it to add the I Beam and hoist and suddenly it became 38 Athens St. South Boston MA. I try to glance at it every day.
